The state of Assam is dominated by the mighty river Brahmaputra whose lush seven hundred kilometers valley is sandwiched between the Himalayan foothills to the north and the plateau of Meghalaya to the south. Although much of the valley is under cultivation, large tracts of woodland make this one of the most forested state in India. Assam the land of Mother Goddess  Kamakhya, lies in the northeast corner of the India. Assam produce more than half of India’s tea. The city of Guwahati is a busy town and continues to be the main communication center for the whole northeast. it is also the site of one of India’s most important Kali Temple.

By Rail : Assam is well connected by train with rest of India. There are train service from Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, and Thiruvannanthapuram. The important railheads are Guwahati, Dimapur, Silchar, Haflong, Lumding and Tinsukia

By Road :

A network of  National Highways and other roads connect all the important cities of Assam. All the towns in Assam are well connected by the Assam State Transport Corporation. These buses also ply to the capitals of the neighbouring states
